However, areas such as Langata, Embakasi and Kibra are expected to receive moderate amounts of rainfall from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning.

Estates along Nairobi’s Thika Road are also expected to experience moderate to low rainfall.

According to the weatherman, Roysambu and Ruaraka areas are expected to receive moderate rainfall with areas such as Ruiru, Juja and Thika receiving little to no rainfall.

The weatherman also revealed that areas in Kajiado North will receive heavy rainfall.

This advisory follows another where the department announced heavy rains in several areas including; the Central Highland region, Western Kenya, the Lake Victoria basin and the Rift Valley region. The advisory applies for the period running between June 4 and June 10.

In its statement, the department stated that despite the rainfall expected to pound the areas, sunny intervals will be experienced in some areas.

“Sunny intervals are expected in the morning though a few areas may receive light rains. Afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms are expected over a few places occasionally spreading to several places,” the Meteorological Department announced.

Besides the rainfall predictions, the weatherman also predicted temperatures of up to 10 degrees within the Central regions.
